Sales Manager Position

The client is seeking an experienced Sales Manager with proven success in prospecting and acquiring new clients with a consultative sales approach. This role will require a ‘hunter’ mentality and ability to aggressively pursue new sales opportunities within medium and large size organizations.

Strong leadership and organizational skills will be used to:

  • Identify new prospects and business opportunities, focusing on new and ‘warm’ leads – including converting leads to new accounts via client engagement
  • Using our marketing automation, contact new accounts and manage the sales cycle from engagement through to sales inquiries
  • Customize messaging, tactics, pitches, and approaches based on the potential client and their objectives
  • Present the company message/positioning, our capabilities, and offerings to new prospects
  • Deliver on specific revenue and new client goals
  • Attain and respond to RFPs for new projects
  • Prioritize activities to ensure business goals are exceeded
  • Understand the marketplace, identify the potential competition, and communicate with executive management on emerging trends in the marketplace
  • Manage client engagement and account org structure, and report to management on achievements, milestones, closed business, and upcoming projects in the pipeline
  • Travel 25% (potentially in future)

Qualifications – Successful candidates possess:

  • BA/BS degree is required. Master’s degree is helpful.
  • 10+ years of professional/consultative and business development experience.
  • Innovation and/or research experience and/or prior experience selling to marketing organizations
  • Knowledge and/or training in consultative sales approaches (e.g. Strategic Selling, SPIN, Power Base Selling, etc) is helpful, but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must have been in a prior quota carrying position with a demonstrated track record of performance.
  • Passionate, can-do attitude, and resourceful with an entrepreneurial spirit
