Media and Event Sales Representative

Responsibility:
The primary responsibility of this role is to attain or exceed the established sales goals set by the company through new client development and existing strategic account management. Clients purchase print and digital media and sponsored content, as well as sponsorships and exhibit space at our events. This position is primarily an inside position with infrequent visits with key clients and event travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new clients through:
- Innovative and strategic prospecting
- Social media interaction
- Proactive phone calls and e-mails
- Generating introductions and referrals
- Responding to inbound leads and inquiries with the intention of a phone conversation
- Develop a strategic relationship with existing and new clients in order to better recommend different opportunities:
- Get to know all people involved in a client’s company, from C-suite to marketing
- Command meetings to discuss strategic needs as well as placements and orders
- Know your clients, what they provide and how to best serve them
- Strengthen relationships and develop new ones while attending events
- Understand the needs, wants and objectives of all prospects and clients to recommend their best investments
- Assist client in ad development (if needed)
- Sell from a value position
- Work in an organized manner – manage orders details, including receiving and delivering ad materials
- Contact all assigned accounts on a quarterly basis, at minimum
- Proof orders/ads to ensure correct materials are used
- Develop client contracts
- Keep record of all contacts, interactions and activity in the company CRM
- Attend and actively participate in weekly sales meetings
- Attend trade shows and conventions to promote products, as scheduled by company
- Participate in training provided by company
- Provide and update all reporting requested by management
- Performs all other duties as assigned
This position does not supervise other employees.
Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and four years of sales experience (business-to-business, advertising or media); or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Computer proficiency
- Skilled in Web sales tools (Web conference, LinkedIn, CRM, marketing tools)
- Self-driven, motivated and results-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills
