Associate Director, Insights - Qual

Job Description

The client is a creative experience company fueled by humanizing brands that move people. As one of the largest independent brand consultancies in the United States, we’re independent in spirit and in ownership, unbound to both the status quo and shareholders. Fueled by 140+ builders and makers across offices in Denver and New York, our teams create and deliver powerful brand experiences across a spectrum of services, including insights, strategy, creative, culture, activation, branded environments, and the world’s leading brand engagement and asset management platform.

We are looking for an Associate Director to join our growing insights team. We believe that the role of research is to understand people. It’s not about delivering data points; it’s about understanding what matters to people so we can move them to action and create more human brand experiences. We are looking for someone who understands this, shares our view, and can help us and our clients make smarter, more confident decisions.

About the Role

  • Lead custom qualitative research initiatives across a variety of clients and industries

  • Ensure that discussion guides meet objectives in the most effective way, with the ability to adapt to both face-to-face and virtual environments

  • Write discussion guides that meet the client objectives and draw in a range of qualitative techniques and experience from similar brand studies

  • Design tailored strategic integrated deliverables and ‘client ready’ proposals

  • Guide presentation analysis that is thoughtful and creative and develops insightful findings and actionable implications

  • Collaborate with strategy, client experience and design teams to enhance our overall consultancy offering and engage clients

  • Act as the day-to-day research lead with key clients: demonstrating an understanding of their business and industry, proactively meeting their needs, ensuring that the research meets their objectives, and keeping them up to date with our thinking

  • Identify, engage, and manage the appropriate research vendors/recruiters for specific projects on which a vendor is needed, including establishing and managing all costs and invoices on projects

  • Create and deliver impactful reports and presentations that highlight key insights and convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner

  • Take responsibility for presentations, reports and proposals, ensuring that all information is factually accurate and proofread

  • Create and lead opportunities to maintain or strengthen Monigle culture (training and shared learning opportunities, marketing opportunities, social events, initiatives)

  • Lead, motivate and train team members

Job Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience designing, executing and analyzing qualitative market research

  • Experience in designing quantitative market research is a plus

  • Expert-level understanding of brand and marketing ideas

  • Experience managing research vendors/recruiters

  • Able to use a wide variety of qualitative methods and techniques to meet different group dynamics and client objectives

  • Experience leading in-depth interviews, focus groups and discussion boards

  • Able to explain research principles and interpret findings for non-researchers

  • Well organized with strong attention to detail

  • High level of proficiency in PowerPoint

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, LivingLens and Miro is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
